TCEQ Licensing: What It Means for You

Septic system technician at work, Amarillo Septic Pumping

Texas regulates on-site sewage facilities - septic systems, grease traps, and related infrastructure - through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality under Title 30, Chapter 285. Operating as a maintenance company under this framework requires passing a state licensing exam, designating a licensed representative accountable to TCEQ for the company's operations, following established procedures for pumping, transport, and waste disposal, and disposing of all waste only at licensed receiving facilities.

When you hire an unlicensed pumper, none of those requirements apply to them. Septage disposed of improperly is a health hazard and a state environmental violation. An unlicensed operation has no accountability to TCEQ for how that waste is handled after they leave your property.

The practical difference: when we pump your tank, the waste goes to a licensed treatment facility. We maintain a service record for every job. You can verify our TCEQ license status directly through the TCEQ licensed entity search at tceq.texas.gov.

What to Expect When You Call

Residential pump-out or cleaning: Call (806) 216-4115. We'll ask for your address, tank size if you know it, and approximately when the tank was last serviced. Standard pump-outs are straightforward to quote over the phone. We schedule the job, show up on time, pump the tank, inspect the baffles while it's open, and give you a written service record.

Pre-purchase or diagnostic inspection: Describe the property and the situation when you call. Pre-purchase inspections are typically scheduled with access coordinated through the seller's agent or the property contact. Diagnostic inspections for problem systems start with a conversation about symptoms before we schedule.

Repair calls: If you're dealing with an active backup, surfacing sewage, or slow drains that came back quickly after a pump-out, describe the symptoms. We'll tell you what the diagnostic process involves and whether you need an inspection before a repair quote can be accurate.

Commercial grease trap service: First-time commercial jobs are typically quoted after a brief site assessment to confirm trap size and access logistics. Ongoing service is scheduled on a set interval that we establish based on accumulation rate.
